Employee Benefits Corporation administers a variety of employee benefits, from Section 125 cafeteria plans and Section 105 health reimbursement arrangements to COBRA and state-regulated continuation, through informative materials, detailed reporting, creative plan designs, and expert client and participant support. As a 100 percent employee-owned company, we are committed to our clients’ satisfaction and providing distinctive products.
Employee Benefits Corporation's team consists of experts in employee benefits plan design, compliance, technology and administration. We have the knowledge at our disposal to create employee benefit plans that meet each of our clients' unique needs, remain in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations, create our own administration software, and carry out the day-to-day plan administration with accuracy and efficiency.
Our in-house Employer and Participant Services teams open the lines of communication between us, and our clients and participants. We assign each of our clients to a dedicated member of the Employer Services team – a Client Liaison – so each client receives personalized help from someone who is familiar with their benefits. Plan participants talk with a group of representatives that understands the employee's perspective and provides the best possible guidance when questions arise.
Our benefits administration services offer businesses:
Originally known as Employee Benefits Cooperative, the company was formed in 1989 under the leadership of Bill Herriges. As a budding, regional cooperative, it provided employee benefits programs to clients of its long-established parent company, Insurance Cooperative Agency, where Herriges had previously risen to the role of president. The cooperative expanded and delivered valuable flexible spending account administration amongst the 1990s’ substantial changes to technology and an evolving employee benefits market.
In light of an ongoing, industry trend of cooperatives either merging or simply going out of business, Herriges decided in the early 21st century to forge a different path for the company and led Employee Benefits Cooperative’s transition into an employee-owned corporation. The member-owners saw eye-to-eye with Herriges, voting unanimously on December 12, 2001, to turn the cooperative into the employee-owned Employee Benefits Corporation.
Employee Benefits Corporation blossomed under its new 100 percent employee ownership. A wave of increased business demanded growth in the company’s staff, more efficient administration technology and dedicated customer service teams. While Herriges retired on December 31, 2005, Shelly Alexander succeeded him in his position and, along with each employee, carried on the company’s drive to branch out on a wider scale and its record of innovative, efficient and valuable benefits administration.
Today, Employee Benefits Corporation administers a full range IRS-approved benefit plans, including Section 125 cafeteria plans and Section 105 health reimbursement arrangements, and COBRA compliance services for thousands of clients throughout the country.
We are committed to ensuring that our clients’ plans are successful and that our services, responsiveness and materials exceed both our clients’ and their participants’ expectations.
