There are several ways that members of the EBA can contribute to the improvement of students and the teaching community.
Professional Development for Educators
- Act as a liaison between industry and education.
- Help advise, instruct and educate teachers about the work that your company/business or organization conducts.
- Work with teachers or schools to help inform them about the latest trends, educational needs of your industry.
- Build collaboration between educators and local business.
- Speaking opportunities are a great way for students to hear about a specific job or industry directly from the professionals.
- Hosting field trips allow students to experience the types of jobs that exist within a company.
- Expand student knowledge of requirements that are necessary for employment.
- Serve as an industry representative in a mentor or judge role.
- Give students professional insight to help inform them about their projects and work.
- Real world feedback helps motivate students understand the importance of their work.
- Job shadows provide and allow students the opportunity to observe daily activities that are associated with a job/company.
- Job shadow on average would be a 3-6 hour experience for the student, and is an alternative to an internship.
